The design of this custom sink was born out of the need to answer questions of a different nature.
A house in the historic center with a long, narrow bathroom and obvious out-of-frames,
the almost obligatory placement of the shower area and the need to find space for storage
without taking up much of it within the bathroom itself. The solution was to create an in-place sink
in concrete that was a gentle monolith.
Monolith because it is unicum and because it has the materiality of cement,
gentle because the thoughtful organic form connects and creates the right transition quickly and effectively
for the sanitary and shower area. Above the created sartorial element, they can rest on
two mirrored shelves that expand the space and accommodate the necessary storage
inserted into an existing niche. When the tailor-made design succeeds in
answer all the questions posed, its success materializes
as in the case of the sweet monolith, the result of the collaboration between the Ci.MA studio
which conceived it and Cemento Line which engineered and manufactured it.
